The Hive was recently judged by Ofsted as an Outstanding College. Our students are delightful, their behaviour is exemplary and they are very keen to learn the skills and behaviours they require in preparation for adulthood.
We provide Specialist Further Education to young people aged 19-25 years with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Our study programmes focus on Preparation for Adulthood outcomes which include:

- Good Health
- Friends, Relationships and Community

As part of the on-going development of a highly successful college, we have vacancies for Teaching Assistants who specialise in supporting young adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, to join our team of professional and dedicated people.
The right candidate will have:
- An NVQ Level 3 childcare related qualification (or equivalent) plus minimum GCSE English and Maths Grade C and above (or equivalent)
- A good understanding of how students learn and develop in education
- The ability to support the class teacher in meeting the needs of all students, including mentoring, pastoral care and assisting with the physical care of students as and when required
- The ability to work with individuals and small groups of students
- Excellent communication and written skills with high expectations of learning and behaviour
- Support students in the work place and whilst out in the community
