Mayfield is a large school which caters for over 300 students with Special Educational Needs. The facilities are split across two all-age (3-19) sites in Birmingham, both of which have seen significant financial investment to provide optimal learning environments for students. The first supports students with autism and associated learning needs, whilst the second provides education to those with moderate to severe learning difficulties and profound & multiple needs. We also link directly with Lime Tree Nursery which is co-located at our Heathfield Road provision.
2020 saw the release of our brand new curriculum, designed specifically to meet the individual needs of all our students. This allows us to target areas of development for each young person and create tailor made approaches that meet personal learning needs, whilst maintaining broad and balanced curriculum exposure. This is delivered by our passionate and enthusiastic staff team who integrate with external professionals to create a progressive, safe and child-centred educational community, which promotes respect, honesty and excellence in all areas.
Mayfield is now part of the Education Impact Academy Trust which is an Outstanding Education Provider. This is the culmination of extensive improvements made in all areas of the school over recent years. As a school we have adopted the ethos that ‘Better Never Ends’ as we continuously strive to improve the experiences that our students and their parents receive. Our aim is that the school will be outstanding in all areas and we will be relentless in our pursuit of this goal.
