Members of the Education Impact Academy Trust ensure that the Trust acts within its charitable objectives as set out in the “Articles of Association”. The members of the Academy Trust are the signatories to the “Memorandum of Association”. New members are appointed by the current members. The members are responsible for the appointment of the Chief Executive Officer and Trustees.

Trustees are known as the Directors of the Trust, our Board of Trustees ensure that they comply with charity and company law. The Board is also accountable in law and to Ofsted for the Trust’s performance. Our Board of Trustees is active, visionary and focused on enabling and empowering EIAT to be a leading Trust, provider of outstanding education for children and young people with special educational needs and an employer of choice.

Each school in our Trust has a Local Governing Body who meet formally four times per year and report to the Board of Trustees. Membership of the Local Governing Body is independent of the Board of Trustees.

In addition to upholding the Trust vision and values, all Members, Trustees and LGB Members must adhere to the Seven Principles of Public Life (the Nolan Principles):

  1. Selflessness
  2. Integrity
  3. Objectivity
  4. Accountability
  5. Openness
  6. Honesty
  7. Leadership
