As part of the on-going development of a highly successful college, we have vacancies for Work Placement Supervisor / Teaching Assistants who specialise in supporting young adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, to join our team of professional and dedicated people.

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed staff to support learners to participate in a wide range of challenging community activities that contribute to society and help them develop their skills in different environments. The right candidate will need to work flexibly as the needs of the role are dynamic and role requirements will vary.  

The right candidate will have:

  • An NVQ Level 2 childcare related qualification (or equivalent) plus good literacy and numeracy skills
  • A good understanding of how students learn and develop in education.
  • The ability to support the work placement team in meeting the needs of all students, including pastoral care and assisting with the physical care of students as and when required.
  • The ability to work with individuals and small groups of students within the College.
  • Excellent communication and written skills with high expectations of learning and behaviour
  • The ability to support students in the college and whilst out in the community at work placements (this will include the flexibility to attend off site work placements, sometimes outside of the usual college hours).
  • A clean driving licence.
  • To be able to undertake flexible working hours which will include some early mornings and late evenings.
